Updating System Five with S5webAPI and WindwardConnect

S5WebAPI and WindwardConnect are services that make integrations operate. This article is written to maintain both a release and beta version of System Five and S5WebAPI and WindwardConnect installed on a local C drive. Your drive letter may vary depending on installation.

If you do not have a beta installation you will not have beta services to stop or update.
A. Turn off the following services:
  1. windwardconnect_beta
  2. S5WebAPIService_Beta
B. create a backup copy of the bin and data. See the sample below:
 1. bin in C:\System5 renamed the backup to 6.2.7.213_bin
 2. data in C:\System5 renamed the backup to 6.2.7.213_data
 3. created a zipped copy of the data
C. Create a backup copy of S5WebAPISvc.ini from C:\System5\bin
This ensure you keep your S5WebAPISvc.ini settings for configuration.
 1. Browse to C:\System5\bin folder
 2. Copy S5WebAPISvc.ini to S5WebAPISvc_backup.ini
D. Uninstall S5WebAPISvc
 1. Browse to bin folder
 2. run as admin S5WebAPISvc_Uninstall
E. Install the S5.exe. See the sample below:
 1. run s5install.exe to C:\Users\windwardadmin\Desktop\BETA 6.2.7.311
 2. this created a new bin in C:\Users\windwardadmin\Desktop\BETA 6.2.7.311
 3. copied the content of this bin to C:\System5\bin
 4. replaced all files

F. Turn on WebAPI
 1. copied the S5 S5WebAPI from the backup
 2. extracted WEBAPIService 6.2.2.311
 3. copied the S5WebAPISvc.exe, S5WebAPISvc_Install, and S5WebAPISvc_Uninistall.bat to bin
 4. Run as admin S5WebAPISvc_Install
 5. Went to Service and start S5WebAPISvc_Beta
 6. WindwardConnect_Beta is already running as well
