How to Install Microsoft Authenticator

Microsoft Authenticator is used in confirming your identity to System Five on Cloud. Follow the instructions to install Microsoft Authenticator on your Android, iOS or Windows Phone device.

The QR code used to activate will come from the Windows Desktop Client software installed and requires a System Five on Cloud username and password. You will need to choose your preference for interacting with your mobile application and click the Set up button to receive a QR code.

1) You will need to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator from the Google Play Store on your Android device.

2) After installation, open the application. You may be notified with a data privacy warning.

3) To set up passwordless sign-in for your personal Microsoft account, choose Scan QR code.

4) Now on your android device click scan QR Code shown on your computer monitor. You may be asked to allow Authenticator to take pictures for this step.

5) Follow additional prompts on your device. If you selected the option to “Use verification code” you may be required to enter this code into your computer to complete the authentication.

4) Choose to receive a notification for verification or use a verification code.

5) Click setup in the Additional Security Verification screen

6) Now on your device click scan QR Code. You may be asked to allow Authenticator to access your camera.

7) If you receive an error saying the QR Code is invalid, You will be prompted to add an account.

  • Click the Add Account button
  • Choose Work or school account
  • You will be prompted again to scan a QR Code
  • If that QR Code fails, your session may have timed out.
  • Click Cancel in the Windows App, and then click Set up and try scanning the QR Code again.

8) If the verification was successful you should see Windward On Cloud NA or Windward On Cloud AU in your Authenticator app.

9) Tap on the new account and you will be presented with a one-time password code

  • This code changes every 30 seconds, so you will need to keep the app running until you finish the verification process.

10) In Windows you will come back to the Configure Mobile All screen and click Next.

11) When you click next you will be prompted to enter the code from your iOS device and click next.

  • Again, this code updates every 30 seconds, so if it is about to expire, wait till you receive the new code, and enter it in the Additional Security setup. You must enter the code without spaces.
