Configuring Barcode Scanners

Most barcode scanners act like a keyboard. When a barcode is scanned, they relay digits to the computer as if they were being typed on a keyboard. This can occasionally cause trouble if you scan a new part while the quantity or price field is highlighted, and you're suddenly selling a two dollar item for $102,224,477.

The Solution

To solve this problem, a prefix is added to the scanned barcode, so that your Windward software program knows that a barcode is being scanned.

Adding a Prefix

Below are links to programming commands for common barcode scanners.
