 +====== PowerScan PBT9300 Overview ======
 +
 +The PowerScan™ PBT9300 laser scanner features standard Bluetooth® wireless technology combined with the outstanding reliability and reading performance found in all PowerScan products.
 +
 +Based on Bluetooth 3.0 standard wireless technology, Class 1 Range (in open air); up to 100 m / 328 ft. Connectivity is implemented through the receiving base station, which communicates to the host through a choice of interfaces (Serial, USB or Keyboard Wedge) or by connecting the scanner directly to any commercial or embedded Bluetooth compliant device.
 +
 +The PowerScan PBT9300 scanner mounted on a forklift with a Vehicle Mount Terminal (VMT) provides an excellent solution for warehouse applications.
 +
 +The basic cordless model PBT9300 is the only model that we have tested, so it is ther only one supported by Windward Software. The intermediate model with display and a 4-key keypad (PBT9300-D), and the advanced model (PBT9300-DK) which features a display and a full 16-key alphanumeric keyboard, are not currently supported.

 +
 +Two issues that are not critical, but should be noted.
 +
 +1.  Because it is a Bluetooth scanner, if it sits idle for a period of time, it will power down. The next time you use it, you will need to pull the trigger once to wake it up. It will appear to do nothing, but after about 5 seconds it will chirp to let you know it is now active and connected to the cradle. Now you can start scanning barcodes.
 +
 +2.  The actual range of the Bluetooth signal can be greatly impaired if there are objects like walls between the scanner and it's cradle. The specified 100 m / 328 ft would only be under ideal conditions where there aren't any obstructions between the scanner and the cradle. A nice feature of the scanner though, is if you scan a barcode when it is out of range, you will see a green dot to say that it was able to read the barcode, however you will get an audible error sound to let you know it was unable to send the barcode to the cradle and computer. This error sound is distinctly different from the successful beep sound.
